Drs. Roper and Clifford have treated and managed the care of tens of thousands of individuals in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding areas. Our current team of Clinical Psychologists are carrying forth that tradition, providing cutting edge evaluations, medication management, and treatment for individuals in medical settings. The MBW Medical Psychology Services team provides onsite services to countless patients residing in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Sub-Acute Hospitals, Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Long-Term Care facilities.
The Mind Body Wellness Medical Psychology Services are also offered to the public for persons residing in assisted living, independent living facilities, or at home.
The Mind Body Wellness Medical Psychology Services provides a comprehensive and integrated psychological program for individuals and their family members. Our services include assessment and care for residents with dementia, psychosis, behavioral problems, depression, dysfunctional illness and pain behaviors, psychosocial resistance to Rehabilitation & Activities of Daily Living, unexplained weight loss, family distress and dysfunction within the medical or Long-Term Care setting.
We also provide consultation and assistance to families making decisions about a loved ones’ cognitive functioning, appropriate level of care, and possible alternative living environments. Neurobehavioral evaluations are conducted to establish cognitive level of functioning, emotional functioning, pain-related behaviors, Activities of Daily Living skills, and behavioral skills that may assist medical and legal professionals in determining the capacity of patients to make medical and legal decisions while balancing goals of protection and autonomy.
Individual treatment plans, when needed, are developed based on the outcomes of the initial evaluation in order to meet the individual's needs and abilities. All treatment interventions are designed to reduce suffering and maximize the quality of life.
Below are examples of some of the services we offer:
- Evaluations to differentiate dementia from normal age-related cognitive decline
- Evaluations to assess depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns
- Capacity Assessments to help determine strengths and weaknesses of individuals and ability to function or live independently
- Individual or Family therapy to address various issues (depression, anxiety, behavioral changes, mental status changes, dementias, transition issues)
- Support to individuals and families regarding issues of transition
